Off Road Motorcycle Engine Rebuild, Repair, Service and Race-Day Set Up


 

 

Our workshop takes pride in its skills and in the high-quality of workmanship. Our priority is always to minimise potentially costly downtime for our customers, which is why we endeavour to complete all work as swiftly as possible, but with no compromise in standards.

We’ll take the time to explain the approximate costs and estimated completion time of your work as early as possible and keep you update of any change in circumstances. This way there are no surprises in your bill!

We can source and quote for both genuine and aftermarket replacement parts at competitive prices, meaning you only have one point of contact to deal with for your entire job.  If you’ve already sourced your parts from somewhere else though, we’re still happy to complete their installation to the highest standards. Labour Rate @ R380per hour

Below we have an estimate of hours per job (this will be straight forward with no complications like stripped threads, etc.)


4 Stroke single cylinder motor Labour only:

Bottom end and top end rebuild 10hrs(engine supplied)

Bottom end and top end rebuild 12hrs(Clean Bike supplied)

Top end rebuild 3½hrs(Piston kit fitting)

Valve gap check 1½hrs(no shims), 2hrs(shims needed)

Valve removal, check and clean 3hrs, new steel valves to be fitted and lapped 4hrs

Cam chain replacement 3hrs

Crankcase split with stripping and fault diagnoses 2hrs(engine supplied) 3hrs(bike supplied) if the customer does not accept the quote.

 

Valve seats will not be inspected on rebuilds unless requested at extra cost. Valve gaps will be checked before assembly.

If titanium valves are required the head will have to be sent off so the valve seats are cut to the correct angles as they cannot be lapped like steel valves.

On all full rebuilds the clutch, gearbox, oil pump, etc. will be inspected for wear.

We will consult with the client if we think anything might need to be replaced.

As a rule the following parts are required to be changed during a full rebuild: Full gasket & seal kit, piston kit, connecting rod kit, main bearings, balancer bearings, cam chain, spark plug, oil filter and gearbox bearings.

 

2 Stroke single cylinder motor Labour only

Bottom end and top end rebuild 8hrs(engine supplied)

Bottom end and top end rebuild 10hrs(Bike supplied)

Top end rebuild 2½hrs(Piston kit fitting)

Crankcase split with stripping and fault diagnoses 1½hrs(engine supplied) 2½hrs(bike supplied) if the customer does not accept the quote.

 

On all full rebuilds the clutch & gearbox will be inspected for wear.

We will consult with the client if we think anything might need to be replaced.

We will always advise to replace the main bearings if the motor needs to come apart i.e. gearbox job.

As a rule the following parts are required to be changed during a full rebuild: Full gasket & seal kit, piston kit, connecting rod kit, main bearings, spark plug, and gearbox bearings.

 

 

These are some of the following repairs/replacements we offer Labour only:

- Fork seals replacement 2hrs(forks supplied) 3hrs(bike supplied)

- Fork service 3hrs(forks supplied) 4hrs(bike supplied)

- Rear shock service 2½hrs(forks supplied) 3½hrs(bike supplied)

- Brake/Clutch master cylinder seal kits 1hr

- Wheel bearing replacement ¾hr(wheel supplied) 1¼hrs(bike supplied)

- Suspension linkage bearings 2hrs (3hrs incl swing arm bearings)

- General service

- Carburettor cleaning 1½hrs

- Clutch plates replacement ½hr, Clutch basket 2hrs and Clutch hub 1½hrs

- Water pump seals 1¼hrs

- Chain and sprockets replacement 1hr

 

Other repairs & replacement charged on a ¼hr basis:

 

- Screw thread repair

- Seat cover fitting

- Tyre fitting

- Brake pad fitting

- Header exhaust pipe dent removal

- Spoke replacement

- Single 2 Stroke & 4 Stroke crank rebuilding

 

We also offer 2 & 4 stroke off road bike services:

 

4 Stroke full service includes: Engine oil change, new oil filter, clean/oil air filter, clean carburetor,

  check valve gaps, grease linkage bearings if needed, check head stock

  bearing grease, clean throttle tube, check spokes, adjust & lube chain,

  check other fluid levels. Spark plug to be replaced at extra cost due to

  plug price differences on certain models.

  Full service @ R1500

 

  2 Stroke full service includes: Gearbox oil change, clean/oil air filter, clean carburetor, lube cables,

  grease linkage bearings if needed, check head stock bearing grease,

  clean throttle tube, check spokes, adjust & lube chain, new spark plug,

check other fluid levels.

  Full service @ R1000
